Using SunLab Monitors With Your Computer
The SunLab monitors connected to SunLab machines are available for use with student-owned laptops.
Please be respectful of those around you and limit the volume of any audio played.
There are two available cables for use with student-owned laptops pre-connected to all SunLab monitors:
- 1 HDMI cable
- 1 USB-C cable
Please use whichever cable is compatible with your machine.
Once your machine is connected to the monitor via either the HDMI cable or the USB-C cable, display signal from your machine will take priority over the SunLab machine.
USB-C Connection
Your machine may display a prompt for permission to allow the USB accessory connection for every monitor you are connecting to for the first time.
In the event that the monitor remains on the DisplayPort signal, please follow the steps below:
- Locate and press the display button labeled "2" on the diagram on the bottom right-hand corner of the monitor.
- Toggle through the available display inputs by following the diagram displayed on the monitor.
Display Settings
Display setting adjustments may be required on your personal machine to accommodate external displays. You may prefer to extend your display instead of mirroring display.
When you are done using the monitor, simply unplug your machine. The display will automatically switch back to the SunLab machine.
